The Orange County Fair & Exposition Center has chosen “Coastlines, Kites and Starry Nights” as the theme of its 19th annual Youth Expo, an event that attracts children to compete in academic, artistic and musical competitions.
The best-known event is the Science and Engineering Fair, in which middle and high school students face off in 17 categories. Also popular is the annual Jazz Festival.
New to the 1998 event, scheduled for April 17-19, will be a pampered pet contest that judges animals on appearance, health and happy faces.
