Representatives of 30 universities from California and other states will be at Pierce College tomorrow for “College and University Day.”
Pierce officials said the event is an opportunity for local residents to learn about higher education and see how the community college can lead to other opportunities.
“This is a chance for the community to meet representatives from our local colleges and many institutions outside the Los Angeles area and to learn how Pierce College can be a gateway to a four-year education,” said Pierce counselor Rudy Dompe, co-director of the Career and Transfer Center.
College representatives will be available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the mall in front of the campus center at the Woodland Hills campus, 6201 Winnetka Ave.
Representatives are expected from several UC campuses, including UCLA, UC Berkeley and UC Davis, and several Cal State campuses, including Cal State Northridge and Cal State Los Angeles.
CalArts, USC and Pepperdine University also will be represented, as well as such far-flung institutions as Arizona State University and Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, Mexico.
Pierce officials said trade schools, including several chiropractic colleges, also will have information available.
The free event is open to the public.
