Harrison Digicom Inc.’s unit in Saigon began shipping laptop and desktop computers to Vietnam as part of a one-year contract from the Vietnam government valued at $78 million.
Costa Mesa-based Harrison Digicom said the order, which calls for 100,000 units to be delivered in 1998 and 1999, stems from a contract for the manufacture of the Vietnam National Brand of computers under the brand name Avicom.
Harrison Digicom provides telecommunications services.
