Ventura County residents will have a chance to admire the work of local artists at the Studio Channel Island’s inaugural event next month at the planned California State University Channel Islands campus.
Studio Channel Islands, a nonprofit educational group, will offer studio space and art workshops for county residents to create and enjoy fine art.
Ventura College instructors will display their work at the studio’s initial event--”Work In Progress” on Sept. 27 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the campus site.
The event will feature paintings, sculpture and photography, as well as food, wine, music and dancing.
Ventura College art instructors participating in the event include Debra McKillop, M.B. Hanrahan, Tom Roe and Bill Hendricks. Former art instructor Gerd Koch is helping to organize the event, which will involve as many 15 additional organizations.
