The largest youth-oriented parade in the San Fernando Valley will march down Chatsworth Street on Sunday afternoon.
The annual Granada Hills Holiday Parade takes off from Chatsworth Street at Petit Avenue at 1:30 p.m., led by Grand Marshall Meagan Good, who stars as Nina in the Nickelodeon series “Cousin Skeeter.”
Marching bands, drill and equestrian teams, decorated floats and special guest Bugs Bunny will be featured.
An awards ceremony at the conclusion of the parade will honor the best float, best band and entries in many other categories.
Many of the participants are children, so award winners are likely to be youngsters.
“It’s their one chance to be a star,” said parade Chairwoman Paula Harness. “There will be about 155 units in the parade, and 30 will go home with an award.” Capping the festivities about 4:30 p.m., a tree billed as the largest living Christmas tree in the Valley will be illuminated with hundreds of lights.
