Skrifvars, Dodd Help Brea Olinda Reach Semifinals

Jerett Skrifvars and Kyle Dodd each scored 15 points to help Brea Olinda defeat Santa Barbara San Marcos, 65-40, in the second round of the Glendora boys’ basketball tournament Thursday.

Skrifvars had 13 rebounds and Dodd had eight assists for Brea (6-1), which advanced to the semifinals against Glendora, which won the Southern Section Division I-A championship last season.

In the Arroyo Grande tournament:

Ocean View 69, Templeton 49--Senior guard Casey Lawson had 20 points and nine rebounds for Ocean View (4-4).

In the Los Al Nike Main Event:

Cypress 51, Long Beach Wilson 44--Alphonso Stovall scored 21 points for Cypress (2-6).

Pacifica 67, Mayfair 62--Adam Rachlin and Jayson Simpson each scored 14 points for Pacifica.

Los Alamitos 76, Long Beach Cabrillo 62--Jeff Grgas had 17 points and eight rebounds and Ron Prettyman added 19 points to lead Los Alamitos (6-3). Cabrillo is 5-6.

In the Mission Hills Tri-City tournament:

Capistrano Valley Christian 76, Anza Hamilton 36--Jamie Tellier had 20 points and seven steals for Capistrano Valley Christian (4-2).

In Gary Raya Classic:

Aliso Niguel 58, Valencia 42--Dave Camadini scored 23 points for Aliso Niguel (5-4), which will play in the third-place game Saturday.

Corona 58, El Dorado 50--El Dorado lost its final pool-play game, but still advanced to Saturday’s championship game against Esperanza. Ryan Carlos scored 17 points to lead the Golden Hawks (5-4).

In the Reebok Holiday Classic:

Laguna Hills 60, San Ramon California 52--Josh Pierson scored 25 points and Randy Craft had 11 rebounds and for Laguna Hills (5-2).

In the Sonora Cage Classic:

Mission Viejo 76, Westminster 58--Frances Ireifej had 25 points, eight rebounds and seven assists and Kyle Ulrich had 19 points for Mission Viejo.

In the first round of the Sutter Creek Amador Classic:

Sacramento Grant 91, Canyon 82--Neil Hammad scored 41 points, including seven three-pointers, for Canyon (3-3).

At the Troy Courtside Clash:

Calvary Chapel 64, Valley Christian 53--Brett Young led all scorers with 31 for Calvary Chapel (5-2). Brent Boekenstein scored 16 points for Valley Christian (5-2).

Troy 68, Cerritos 40--Jerry Inzunza scored 24 points Alex Raco had six steals and to lead Troy (5-3), which led 23-4 after one quarter. Cerritos is 1-7.
