Thousand Oaks businessman David R. Bowman has been named to the California Chamber of Commerce board of directors.
Bowman, a regional president of GTE, was elected to the Sacramento-based board by sitting members, who work in various fields, including the entertainment, electronics, transportation and manufacturing industries, and agriculture.
The chamber represents more than 11,000 members statewide, and focuses on issues taken up by the Legislature and state regulatory agencies. The group also provides managerial support to all local chambers of commerce.
Bowman has been with GTE for 33 years and was appointed a regional president in July. Previously, he was GTE’s director of remote operations support, headquartered in Texas.
His region serves more than 4.8 million customers in California and portions of Nevada and Arizona.
