Parents May Submit School Applications

Simi Valley parents who want to send their children to a campus other than their neighborhood school next year may submit a “school of choice” application by next Monday.
If there are more applications than available slots, a lottery will be held to allocate transfers and a waiting list will be created.
Officials of the Simi Valley Unified School District recommend first calling the school where a place is sought to learn if space is available.
White Oak Elementary School has no openings and will not be accepting applications.
Valley View Middle School has no openings but will be accepting applications for later vacancies.
In addition, students who will be in the sixth grade next year may choose either to stay at their elementary school or attend one of the district’s middle schools. To have their children attend middle school, parents must pick up an application and return it to the chosen school.
The district’s performing arts and technology magnet school, Santa Susana High, is accepting applications for grades 9 through 12. Campus tours can be arranged by calling 520-6800.
Applications are available at the individual schools. For more information, call the district office at 520-6571.
