Prospective parents, some school board members and other residents boarded a school bus Monday morning for a tour of eight of the city’s schools.
Culver City Unified Supt. Laura Plasse said the two-hour bus tour provided an overview of the district and showcased campuses’ special programs for adults.
Participants visited a first-grade Japanese language classroom at El Marino Elementary, computer labs at Culver City Middle School and the new building at El Rincon Elementary.
Beverly Violin, whose grandson is a senior at Culver City High School, was impressed by the tour. “We smelled the food at the high school and it was very tempting,” she said.
Plasse said the district may consider offering the program regularly.
