Council to Consider Disney Proposal

Hailed as a significant economic boost for downtown, a proposal to construct a 25,000-square-foot building for Disney’s travel services office will be considered Tuesday by the City Council, acting as the Redevelopment Agency.
The Koll Co. of Newport Beach has entered into a build-to-suit lease agreement with Walt Disney Attractions for a one-story building on land at the southeast corner of Center Street Promenade and Lemon Street.
The business, which sells travel services in the western United States, would employ 185 to 200 people, a city staff report said. Koll would pay the city agency $68,000 for the property.
The meeting begins at 5 p.m. in council chambers, 200 S. Anaheim Blvd. Information: (714) 765-5166.
