The Five Counties Wrestling Invitational begins at 3 p.m. Friday at Fountain Valley High.
Calvary Chapel will defend its title. Unlike last year, however, when the Eagles had two state champions, Calvary Chapel will be severely tested by state powerhouses Poway, Temecula Valley and Ventura. Last week at the Ventura Quad meet, Poway defeated the Eagles.
In addition to top-ranked Calvary Chapel, the county’s other nine ranked schools will compete in the 62-team meet. The invitational continues Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m., with finals scheduled for 7 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students with ID and $1 for children.
