City to Get Update on Zone Change Request
- Share via
The City Council will be updated at its Monday meeting on a request to amend the city’s General Plan to rezone land along Madera Road for residential development.
Developers from Bergheer California Inc. and property owners have requested the city change the zoning for a 16.6-acre parcel along the west side of Madera Road near the Royal Avenue intersection to allow as many as 40 single-family homes to be built on the property.
The land is now divided into several zones that include medium- and low-density residential and open space.
Although council members very likely will not take action on the matter, city staff members have recommended that members deny the request because it is incompatible with surrounding development and the General Plan.
No date has been scheduled for a vote on whether to rezone the land.
The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday at City Hall, 2929 Tapo Canyon Road.
