Police say a man arrested on suspicion of robbing a Blockbuster Video store Sunday may have struck the same shop just a week before.
James Lavell Mayfield, 32, of Westminster was arrested outside the store in the 13900 block of Brookhurst Street following the robbery, said Lt. John Woods.
Police received a call at 10:55 a.m. Sunday from a nearby Blockbuster about suspicious activity at the Brookhurst store, Woods said.
Witnesses told police the robber had entered the store, pulled a knife and demanded cash. The robber fled with $300. No one was injured.
When the officers arrived, they found the money and other property hidden outside on store grounds.
Officers are investigating whether the suspect was involved in a robbery June 20 at the same store, or in robberies at other Blockbuster Video shops.
