Sunstone Hotel Investors Inc. said it is selling four hotels that don’t fit the San Clemente firm’s strategy of acquiring and renovating luxury, upscale hotels in large, downtown and airport hotel markets.
Sunstone had acquired the hotels as part of its $372-million purchase of Kahler Realty Corp. last October. The facilities, which have a total of 651 rooms, are being sold for an undisclosed amount to Cavanaughs Hospitality Corp. in Spokane, Wash. The properties are the Boise Park Suite Hotel in Boise, Idaho; the Pocatello Park Quality Inn in Pocatello, Idaho; the Best Western Canyon Springs Park Hotel in Twin Falls, Idaho; and the Best Western Colonial Inn in Helena, Mont.
