Farmers Market

I think farmers markets are a wonderful addition to our options as discriminating consumers. But I also think is is extremely unfair to hold a farmers market in the street outside someone’s place of business (“A Boon for Business or a Headache?” July 12). A quality merchant like Mark Weitz who has built up his clientele over many years should not suffer--even a little--so that part-time merchants who visit the area one day a week can operate. Moorpark Park is nearby. . . . It would be interesting to know what thinking led to blocking Weitz’s front door on a business day rather than using the park.
