Aboriginal Center to Open in Sydney

Australia on Monday will open a National Aboriginal Cultural Center in Sydney’s Darling Harbor, presenting arts, crafts and dance by that nation’s indigenous people.
Although there are several regional aboriginal centers, this center is the most accessible and will have a “broader diversity,” drawing from more than 200 aboriginal nations throughout Australia, said spokeswoman Maree Fox George. It also will have a tour desk with information on about 50 day trips and multi-day aborigine-themed excursions. Most of the center’s staff are aborigines.
Adult admission is about $12, which includes a dance performance; or about $1 to just visit the galleries. Information: tel. 011-61-2-9283-7477.
