Spotlight: KLA-Tencor’s Chairman and CEO to Swap Positions

KLA-Tencor Corp. said its chairman and its chief executive will swap positions, about a year after the Milpitas company was formed when KLA Instruments Corp. bought Tencor Instruments. KLA-Tencor is the world’s largest maker of equipment for reducing computer chip defects. Kenneth Levy, chairman and CEO of KLA Instruments, will become chief executive, while CEO Jon Tompkins, who ran Tencor, will become chairman. The change will help the company focus on a post-merger growth strategy.
