Soccer Mom With a Social Conscience

The government of Burma/Myanmar is a military regime that has prevented democratically elected leaders from taking charge and has pursued a course of human-rights violations against its own citizens (“The Evolution of a Radical Housewife,” by Patt Morrison, SoCal P.O.V., April 26).
Edmund Burke said: “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” It seems that the good men at some oil companies are doing just that. Perhaps it takes a churchgoing, stay-at-home suburban mom to teach them.
It seems that even Morrison couldn’t quite figure how to label her. How about “Soccer Mom With a Social Conscience”?
