Two women were injured Thursday when a BMW collided with a Ford Explorer, Sheriff’s Lt. Richard Paddock said.
The women’s names were not released by police.
The collision occurred at 12:38 p.m. at Jeronimo Road and Alicia Parkway when the BMW driver quickly pulled out in front of the Explorer, which was traveling north on Jeronimo, authorities said.
The BMW was crushed and the driver of the car, a 38-year-old woman from Laguna Hills, suffered serious internal injuries.
She was taken to Saddleback Memorial Medical Center in Laguna Hills, where she was listed in critical condition.
The 46-year-old driver of the Explorer was treated at Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo for lesser injuries.
Police are still investigating the crash, Paddock said.
