Jessica Cosby, one of the top dual-sport athletes in the region, has transferred from Granada Hills High to Cleveland.
Cosby, who will be a junior, is two-time defending City Section champion in the girls’ shotput and is a two-time All-City 3-A Division selection in basketball.
“She just wanted to go somewhere where a [track coach] has a passion for the sport, that it’s not just a job,” said Cosby’s mother, Beaverly. “She just wanted the opportunity to participate in some of the big meets that she was unable to while she was at Granada..”
Cosby averaged 19.8 points and 14.3 rebounds a game as a sophomore in basketball and will join a Cavalier team that was 10-10 last season.
