Matson’s Goal Lifts Zodiac, 1-0

Mike Matson ran onto a header flicked forward by Eddie Soto, eluded El Paso keeper Nate Buseck and scored in the fifth minute of overtime Friday to give the Zodiac a 1-0 victory at Socorro Stadium in El Paso.
The Zodiac (11-6), who lead the A-League Pacific Division by seven points, handed the Patriots (7-8) their fifth consecutive loss.
Soto had seven of the team’s 17 shots and Zodiac keeper Mike Littman had nine saves.
