Council Hearing to Focus on Parks-Related Issues

The Pacific Palisades Community Council will hold a public meeting tonight to discuss the issue of crowds in the lower part of Temescal Canyon Park and other parks-related matters.
Shirley Haggstrom, chairwoman of the council, said more than 3,000 people filled the park on the east side of Temescal Canyon Road on April 19, creating parking and traffic safety problems.
Parking concerns at the Palisades Recreation Center will also be addressed tonight.
Representatives from the Los Angeles City police, fire, and recreation and parks departments have been invited to attend the meeting, Haggstrom said.
The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. in the community room of the Palisades Branch Library, 861 Alma Real Drive.
