Train Swap Meet Planned at Depot
As one of the oldest structures in Simi Valley, the Santa Susana railway depot exudes history and a sense of nostalgia for an age when shrill whistles and chugging engines gave life and prosperity to the area.
Located at Santa Susana Park off Kuehner Drive, the 93-year-old depot is now the home of the Santa Susana Model Railroad Club, which has refurbished the building and installed a museum and railroading library.
Members will host a model train swap meet at the museum today from 7 to 11 a.m. Admission is $1. Among the items to be offered are model railroad equipment, supplies and books. More information is available from Bruce Bloch at (818) 363-4782.
