JIM SILVA
An Orange County supervisor for the last four years, Silva touts his record as a fiscal conservative and leader who helped the county out of bankruptcy without raising taxes.

* Priorities: Continue support for the El Toro airport. Work on reducing the bankruptcy debt still owed by the county. Oversee a senior citizen help hotline the county will set up soon.
DAVE SULLIVAN
A Huntington Beach councilman for six years, Sullivan launched his campaign as an El Toro airport opponent, thus garnering thousands of dollars of contributions from South County airport opponents.

* Education: Bachelor of science, biology, Boston College, 1959; dentistry degree, Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, 1963; doctor of dental medicine, University of Detroit Dental School, 1966.
* Career highlights: Elected to Huntington Beach City Council in 1992 as an environmentalist who opposed development of local parks and the beachfront. Opposed police union’s attempted salary increases as “pension spiking.”
* Priorities: Create new majority to oppose development of the El Toro airport. Seek televised board meetings. Work on land swap with the owners of the Bolsa Chica mesa.
