A new bus service geared toward senior citizens and community members has begun linking the Eagle Rock and Highland Park communities for 25 cents a ride, a councilman’s spokeswoman said.
Since last week, the new DASH minibuses have been stopping at most senior citizen centers, the Highland Park area along Figueroa Street, Franklin and Eagle Rock high schools and Eagle Rock Plaza, said Luisa Acosta, spokeswoman for councilman Richard Alatorre.
The bus project was established by the Department of Transportation in conjunction with the offices of council members Mike Hernandez and Alatorre, Acosta said.
Buses will run the 7.5-mile route every 20 minutes, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
