A store manager was killed and a security guard was in critical condition after a shootout Wednesday afternoon with two armed robbers at a wholesale business in downtown Los Angeles.
The two robbers, armed with handguns, held up the business in the 1400 block of East 15th Street.
“There was a shootout between the suspects and the security guard,” said LAPD Officer Don Cox. “Several rounds were exchanged and both suspects fled on foot.”
The manager of the business, Paul Lee, 46, was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The security guard, whose name was not released, was in critical but stable condition at the hospital.
A search for the suspects was continuing.
