Police said an autopsy will be done on a 44-year-old man found dead Wednesday at his bay-front Newport Beach home.
Sgt. Mike McDermott of the Newport Beach Police Department said the body of the man, whose identity had not been released Wednesday night, was discovered by a woman who shared the home on Bayside Drive. He said officers were called by a next-door neighbor who reported hearing a woman scream about 3:45 p.m.
When police arrived, they found the body near the front door, McDermott said, with signs of “significant trauma.” He would not elaborate except to say that the cause of death was not clear.
