Police to Tow Cars of Parking Ticket Scofflaws

City officials will crack down on habitual violators of parking laws beginning Monday by towing cars that have five or more outstanding parking citations, authorities said.
Many of the 8,990 unpaid parking tickets issued in West Hollywood date back to 1996, said city parking manager Vit Vittatoe, and would amount to about $600,000 in revenue for the city if paid.
West Hollywood shares its parking citation database with Beverly Hills, Culver City and Santa Monica, Vittatoe said, meaning that people with five or more citations from any of these cities are subject to having their vehicles towed.
