7:30 TONIGHT SAN CLEMENTE HIGH
Santa Margarita showed last week against Dana Hills that it is vulnerable to teams with solid running games. The Eagles were outplayed up front for much of the game. They had only five possessions and Dana Hills punted only once all night. But Santa Margarita won by capitalizing on two fumbles by Dana Hills’ quarterback. San Clemente rushed for more than 300 yards last week, but that came against a porous Aliso Niguel defense. Santa Margarita is the state’s 13th-ranked team by Cal-Hi Sports. Tonight’s is the first football game between the two South Orange County schools.
