2 Killers Executed Despite Appeals

Two murderers were hanged even though they had appeals pending before an international human rights body. Trevor Fisher, 29, who shot a stranded motorist to death in 1990, and Richard Woods, 51, who killed his niece in 1993 by running her over with his truck, were sent to the gallows in the capital, Nassau, an hour apart. Both men had lodged appeals with the Organization of American States’ Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, which urged a stay of execution.
