Van Nuys 11, Canoga Park 7--Van Nuys quarterback Bobby Hernandez completed 12 of 30 passes for 141 yards and a touchdown at Canoga Park.
Canoga Park (2-4, 0-3) drove 74 yards to the Van Nuys three-yard line in the final three minutes, but consecutive penalties and Stepter’s final sack ended the drive.
Hernandez connected with Germaime Lucious for a six-yard touchdown with 8:58 to play, then completed a two-point conversion pass to Jose Arroyo to give Van Nuys (5-1, 3-0) an 8-7 lead.
Arroyo added a 32-yard field goal with 6:32 remaining.
