Producers Dean Devlin (“Independence Day”) and Jon Landau (“Titanic”) are among those scheduled to take part in “Rewriting the Future,” a discussion on the effect of new technologies on traditional storytelling, taking place Wednesday at the Writers Guild Theater, 135 S. Doheny Drive, Beverly Hills.
The 7:30 p.m. event is co-sponsored by the Writers Guild of America’s creative media and technology committee and the performance animation company Medialab.
A “real-time” animated character, performed by actor-writer Harry Shearer, will moderate, and director Francis Ford Coppola will participate via a video segment.
Admission is free.
