Robbery Victim Died of Natural Causes

A Long Beach woman who died a day after being assaulted during a robbery at her home died of natural causes, an autopsy report found.
Ida Carter, 65, died at Lakewood Regional Hospital Wednesday morning. Police were investigating the incident as a possible homicide after the robbery until the autopsy results arrived late Tuesday, said Long Beach Police Cpl. Harry Erickson.
Carter and her son were assaulted by a man who robbed them at her home in the 6600 block of Orizaba Avenue just after midnight Tuesday, Erickson said.
