MAI Systems Signs Huge Military Deal

Irvine-based MAI Systems Corp. has signed a $17.5-million deal to install software to manage the rooms and beds at more than 250 locations of the U.S. military, the company said Friday. The five-year contract with the Joint Services, which includes the Air Force, Marines and Navy, involves military installations in most of the 50 states, England, Germany, Spain, Japan and the Caribbean. A central management system will be installed at Marines and Air Force headquarters. The deal represents the company’s largest single roll-out of its property management systems, which are usually placed in hotels. MAI stock closed at $2.19, up 25%, or 44 cents a share.
