The first phase, to be 453,000 square feet, will include a build-to-suit headquarters for Micom Communications Corp., a division of Northern Telecom USA that produces data-voice networking integration products.
Oltmans Construction Co. of Thousand Oaks has begun work on the 136,000-square-foot Micom facility, which is to replace its current home, also in Simi Valley. The $18-million two-story building is expected to be completed in January.
At the same time, Oltmans is erecting two speculative industrial buildings on the business park’s 57-acre site.
These are expected to be completed by December.
The Tapo Canyon business park will eventually be 1 million square feet.
RGA Office of Architectural Design of Long Beach and Pasadena-based developer Wohl Property Group, on behalf of Prudential Real Estate Investors, worked on the project.
