Fullerton 13, Golden West 7--Jeffrey Cruz gave up three earned runs in a complete-game victory and Jimmy Zurn had three RBIs for visiting Fullerton (17-16, 4-9).
Fullerton broke open a close game in the sixth by scoring seven runs on six walks, two hit batters, a fielder’s choice and an error. Golden West is 15-17, 5-10.
In the Golden West men’s swimming Invitational:
Golden West’s Ratanachote and Harcsas post double victories--Vicha Ratanachote won the 200 (1:51.47) and 500 (4:41.22) freestyles and teammate Christian Harcsas won the 200 individual medley (1:58.38) and the 100 backstroke (53.24). The Rustlers won nine of the 13 events of this nonscoring meet.
In the Golden West women’s swimming invitational:
Edoff and Mariani lead Golden West--Former Orange High standout Alyson Edoff won the 50 freestyle in 26.23 and the 200 freestyle in 2:04.13. Rita Mariani won the 400 IM (4:39.46) and the 50 breaststroke (31.57).
