Brea Olinda trustees unanimously agreed in a straw vote Monday that the “Step Up to Education” program, which aims to help at-risk high school students make it to graduation, is a “very high priority” in the budget. The program would provide an alternative education to targeted students and give them additional opportunities to succeed in school. Pending a formal vote, the program would receive $50,000 from the general fund and be launched in September.
