“Sundays at Seven,” a series of educational and cultural programs at Temple Beth Ohr of La Mirada, reflecting the diversity of the Jewish experience, will feature cantor Arie Shikler on Sunday.
Shikler, who has been singing the past 29 years at Congregation Shir Ha-Ma’alot in Irvine, will perform “Melodies of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach,” an homage to the late rabbi.
Shikler began his singing career in his native Israel, but then emigrated to the United States after service in the Israeli army. Shikler frequently sang at Rabbi Carlebach’s appearances throughout the Southland.
Sunday’s performance is at 7 p.m., and admission is free to congregation members and $5 for others. The temple is at 157221 Rosecrans Ave.
