The City Council recently approved a $10,000 start-up loan for the Garden Grove Playhouse in hopes that the theater can reopen. The playhouse was recently reorganized after having been closed for about nine months. Organizers hope to eventually offer about five plays a year, with children’s theater in the summer. Playhouse organizers have been doing some fund-raising but said a contribution from the city would help move the project forward faster. Information: (714) 741-5120.
