11-Digit Surprises

Mandatory 11-digit dialing hit L.A. this past weekend. Like the Y2K to come, it brought surprises. Every apartment building using a telephone entry system dialer must be reprogrammed. The older seven-digit dialers must be upgraded or replaced for big $$$. Meanwhile, those people in buildings that have old systems have lost the security feature of being able to talk to those seeking entry.
