‘The Matrix’ Is the Real Thing

“The Matrix” proved resilient, easily crushing the competition to regain its No. 1 ranking, taking in $12.6 million over the weekend. “Life,” by comparison, took in $11.3 million, a 45% plunge from the prior weekend when it finished No. 1 Two new films had lackluster results: “Pushing Tin” took in $3.6 million and the poorly reviewed comedy “Lost & Found” grossed $3 million.
