Kung Wins Junior Golf Tournament

Candie Kung of Fountain Valley easily won her second consecutive Independent Insurance Agent Junior Classic golf title, beating her nearest competitor by 14 strokes Friday at Northgate Country Club in Houston.
Kung, 18, and No. 1 in the Golfweek/Titleist junior rankings, entered the final round with a seven-stroke lead over Erica Blasberg, 15, of Corona. Kung shot one-over-par 72 to finish at 283; Blasberg shot 79 for a total of 297.
Kung’s margin of victory is the largest ever in the girls’ division.
Ron Won of Irvine shot 72 and finished 16th in the boys’ division at 297, 13 shots behind winner Matt Rosenfeld of Plano, Texas.
