A food bank run by City Councilwoman Kathryn McCullough is looking for donations of food, toys and Christmas gifts.
The donations will fill Christmas baskets for low-income, senior and homeless residents.
McCullough started giving Christmas and Thanksgiving baskets to needy families in the area in 1969. She said the food bank needs frozen hams and turkeys, fresh apples and oranges, candy, gift certificates and unwrapped toys for young and older children.
The Adopt-a-Neighbor food distribution center usually gives between 1,500 and 2,500 baskets each year.
Donations can be dropped off at Adopt-a-Neighbor, 25651 Taladro Circle, Unit H, Mission Viejo. Call (949) 581-6802 for hours.
