The City Council voted Tuesday to approve a restaurant’s request to extend its hours of operation, despite a police report recommending that the request be denied.
Cafe Di Vang, which is officially open from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., and until 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, asked if it could serve from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week. The police report cited violations such as patrons smoking.
At Tuesday’s council meeting, a compromise was reached allowing the cafe to stay open until 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and until 11 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The cafe will be under a six-month probationary period.
