Around the Globes: “The Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. announced the nominations for this year’s Golden Globe Awards. Not surprisingly, Pamela Anderson and Yasmine Bleeth will be vying for the Golden Globe for Best Golden Globes. Among the nominees for best actor in a drama were Russell Crowe for ‘The Insider,’ Jim Carrey for ‘Man on the Moon’ and oddly enough, Bill Clinton for his entire presidency.” (Craig Kilborn)
Seasonal Cheer: Wen Ho Lee, the Chinese scientist accused of mishandling sensitive nuclear weapons data, has sued the U.S. for wrongly portraying him as a spy. “To help with legal fees, and just in time for Christmas, his friends set up a benefit dinner this week called Ho Lee Night.” (Ira Lawson)
