CEO, Wife Accused of Abandoning Child

The head of a $500-million-a-year company was arrested in Rockland, Del., along with his wife for allegedly leaving their sickly 10-year-old son at a hospital with a note saying they could no longer care for him. Richard Wallace Kelso, 62, president and CEO of PQ Corp., and his wife, Dawn, 45, were charged with abandonment of a child and conspiracy. PQ Corp. is one of the world’s biggest producers of sodium silicates.
