Holiday Cheer

Thank you so much for your “Thanksgiving Survival Guide” (Nov. 18). It was great. I would never have attempted to make the whole Thanksgiving dinner from scratch without it. In my 11 years of marriage, I’ve always bought all the Thanksgiving fixings ready-made--I would just reheat them. Your guide gave me the courage to make everything myself. I especially liked your article on the tools--knowing there were substitutes for the professional tools was a relief. I’m happy to report that the dinner was a success. Thanks for helping me gain confidence in my cooking acumen. That Food section is a keeper.
