Construction on a storm drain project will begin today at 9th Street from Chapman Avenue to Reva Drive. One lane will be open during construction from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The work, which should be finished by the end of August, involves storm drains, catch basins, utility relocation, eliminating cross gutters and lane re-striping. The improvements are expected to reduce flooding in the area. Parking near the construction area will be restricted, but access to residences will be maintained at all times. The $277,272 bid by Southern California Underground Contractors Inc. of Brea was approved by the City Council in March. The work is being paid for through gas tax funds. Information: (714) 741-5180.
