Angel outfielder Mike Colangelo will be sidelined at least three weeks after tearing a ligament in his left thumb during a collision in his major league debut on Sunday.
Colangelo’s hand was placed in a cast Monday after the left fielder ran into center fielder Reggie Williams in a game against Arizona.
Colangelo was examined by team physician Lewis Yocum and hand specialist Norman Zemel. The rookie’s injury will be evaluated again in three weeks.
