Quiksilver officially moved into town this week with the opening of its new headquarters. The internationally known manufacturer of surfing gear relocated more than 300 employees from its Costa Mesa site. “We wanted to stay in a beach city,” said Mike Tully, the company’s executive vice president. “We are a surf company, and Huntington Beach is Surf City.”
The 80,000-square-foot facility in the 15200 block of Graham Street offers space for the growing company, which grossed more than $300 million last year, Tully said. The offices are next door to Quiksilver’s warehouse, which opened about a year ago. The city expects to benefit from the move because employees will be spending their money locally, according to a report from City Administrator Ray Silver.
